Damanu
Is suitable for general construction, mouldings, interior stairs, weatherboards and exterior joinery if treated.
It is commonly used for flooring, although hardness for industrial flooring is less than optimum.
Its appearance resembles Queensland Maple, indicating suitability for panelling and furniture. Generally the timber works well
. In the green condition it can be sawn and planed easily to give smooth surfaces except for some stringiness at the bottom of saw-cuts and slight chipping on quartersawn faces.
Turning properties are quite good and drilled holes are smooth with only slight roughness at the breakthrough.
