AppearanceHeartwood:pale brown, sometimes pinkish. Sapwood: not clearly distinguishable. Texture:medium. Grain: often interlocked. Growth rings: visible but not prominent. Pinhole borer discolouration and pencil streaK common.
General commentSlow in drying and prone to surface checking on the tangential surface. Not difficult to work. Satisfactory for steam bending.
